"My family and I had an amazing time on this tour with a group of 11. Joel was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring we had a great experience. The bus was comfortable, and the scenic drive through the Glasshouse Mountains was beautiful. The short nature walk was easy and enjoyable. Brunch was fantastic, offering a choice of meal and drink—I went for the big breakfast and an iced mocha. The highlight of the day was our visit to Australia Zoo. If you haven’t been before, I highly recommend booking a separate trip with Joel just to the Zoo for more time to explore. A big thank you to Joel for making the day so memorable!"

"We had a fabulous day exploring the Hinterlands. Joel has great local knowledge with lots of interesting stories to tell. The tour was a great balance between walking on the edge of stunning Lake Cootharaba, views of Hinterland mountains, wandering around the quaint town of Pomona ( great local art) to sampling delicious mead ( first time I have ever tasted mead I am sold on it!!) and local craft beer ( the beer tasting was very enjoyable even for a non beer person!!). My son (19) and daughter (21) both loved the tour. Thanks Joel again, fantastic day. Hope to see you on another tour in the future."

"Several weeks ago, I was in Noosa and wanted to do a day trip to Montville and Maleny. The lovely people at the tourist infomation place showed me what was on offer, and I picked Joel's Journeys.
Joel was courteous and informative before we were even picked up notifying us of pick from our hotel.
The day was sunny and warm. From the minute the tour started, Joel told us an enormous amount of facts about the flora and the fauna. He was able to tell us about the custodial owners of the land and their words for landmarks, animals, and wildlife.
He was very knowledgeable and friendly...Joel was very passionate about his love of the environment and his beloved Noosa!
Joel's Journeys will now become a regular part of my Noosa holiday! There are so many great tours to go on!...I love supporting businesses that are truly about service to others. Joel's Journeys deserve a 20 out of 10!"

"Joel’s Journey’s (operated and performed by Joel himself) was a great way to travel to/from Australia Zoo. The transport fee included the zoo entry fee and we were picked up on time from our accomodation. The bus was very comfortable, safe and well equipped. Joel was a fantastic host with lots of genuine and friendly banter in true Aussie fashion.
Joel is very knowledgeable about the area in general from local flora and fauna, local
Indigenous language and local attractions.
He also has some great tips regarding how to navigate the zoo for the best experiences.

"We had a fantastic day with Joel’s Journeys. The train trip was memorable travelling in an historic steam train while travelling through beautiful countryside in the Mary Valley reaching our destination of Amamoor. We jumped into the van which is very comfortable and air conditioned ready for the next stop - the Imbil Lookout and then a delicious lunch at Kenilworth. You might like to try one of the donut shop’s donuts while there. They are yummy! Our final stop was the Fig Tree walk which is an easy stroll through the rainforest which was breathtaking. The Moreton Bay Figs are majestic as their branches stretch above the tree canopy. We were lucky enough to see three Mary River cod and a Mary River turtle. Joel is a great tour guide who is passionate about nature providing tour goers with a knowledgeable yet entertaining experience. You’ll have to ask him what bird or birds you are hearing as you walk through the bush. You travel through beautiful countryside, historic Australian towns topped off with a delicious lunch before experiencing the beautiful bush Queensland has to offer which you may not otherwise experience."

A memorable day in the mountains
"Four of us had a full, but unhurried, day in the Sunshine Coast hinterland with Joel as our very knowledgeable guide. Montville is a charming village and the views from the Glass House Mountains are spectacular. We sampled the luscious local chocolate and finished the day with a vineyard wine tasting. Probably the most memorable part was a walk through the prehistoric old growth rain forest where Joel's botanic knowledge was invaluable. All in all, it was a marvellous day."

"Four of us had a full, but unhurried, day in the Sunshine Coast hinterland with Joel as our very knowledgeable guide. Montville is a charming village and the views from the Glass House Mountains are spectacular. We sampled the luscious local chocolate and finished the day with a vineyard wine tasting. Probably the most memorable part was a walk through the prehistoric old growth rain forest where Joel's botanic knowledge was invaluable. All in all, it was a marvellous day."

"Excellent experience, I recommend unreservedly! My colleague and I booked a full day excursion with Joel and were so glad we did. Joel picked us up in Brisbane and took us on a beautiful hike in Noosa National Park - he is extremely knowledgeable about the local wildlife, which really added to our experience (we spotted whales, dolphins, and several rare birds). We then did a tour of some of the local spots in Noosa (including a stop to see some wild kangaroos) and ended with a stunning sunset on Tinbeerwah peak. Joel really goes above and beyond for his guests - for example, on the drive back to Brisbane I mentioned how beautiful the stars were, and Joel pulled over to get out of the van and show us the Southern Cross. A truly remarkable day that we will not forget. Thank you, Joel!"

He also let us have different pick up and drop off spots (different accommodations). The pace was good and we had plenty to see which made the day well worth it. "Excellent tour! Recommended by our accommodation, Noosa Shores Resort, a morning call from Joel from Joel’s Journeys confirming our imminent pick up set the tone from this friendly tour guide. Settled into his super comfy van with great viewing windows and we set off for Old Gympie Station for our start with the Mary Valley Rattler. Atmosphere galore with character volunteers at the station and on the train and beautiful scenery in abundance. History check. Atmosphere check. Good vibes check. Met by Joel at Amamoor and we were off again for a day of touring the beautiful townships and surrounds of the Mary Valley. Lots of interesting and passionate commentary, short nature walks suited to young and old, incredible lookouts and wrapped up with a delicious lunch at Kenilworth with time to sample treats (artisan cheeses, bakeries, chocolatier). "I recently attended Joel's Journeys' Glass House Mountains and Australia Zoo combo tour, and I must say, it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish.
Despite the rain, Joel ensured that the tour was well-paced and completely worth the price. Joel himself is an incredible tour guide, going above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and got the most out of the experience. Even with the weather, we got to see so much, including breathtaking views and fascinating insights that we wouldn't have discovered on our own.
One highlight was the spot Joel found for lunch—it was perfect. Not only was the food great with plenty of options, but the view was absolutely spectacular. It really added to the whole experience.
After lunch, we headed to Australia Zoo, where Joel dropped us off just in time for the Wildlife Warriors show. We had over three hours to explore the zoo and still had plenty of time to see all the other exhibits.
In summary, if you're considering booking this tour, don't hesitate. Joel is an amazing guide who knows how to put on a top-notch tour. You're guaranteed to have a fantastic time, rain or shine. Highly recommended!"

"We had an amazing 6.5 hours in Australia Zoo. Joels came to pick us up at 8.20 (we misread and thought it was 8.50). The hotel contacted us and we met him somewhere in between the 2 times!! He very kindly waited for us and we apologised to the Finnish family already on the bus. After a lovely drive with excellent commentary, we arrived at the zoo before 10 and Joel's picked us again up at 4.30. I would highly recommend this tour."
